This site was originally developed as part of the Beckett and Geulincx Research Project. This site aims to offer information to students and other readers of Geulincx and to advance the study of his works. It also intends to make Geulincx' original Latin texts publically available via the internet.

What is the Beckett and Geulincx Research Project?

The Beckett and Geulincx Research Project was an Australia Research Council funded project examining points of relation between the fiction of Samuel Beckett and the philosophical system of Arnold Geulincx whom Beckett greatly admired. This research project was undertaken by Assoc. Professor Anthony Uhlmann from the University of Western Sydney in Australia.

Associate Professor Anthony Uhlmann
Associate Professor Anthony Uhlmann is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Humanities at the University of Western Sydney, Australia. His research interests include Samuel Beckett, contemporary literature and, the relation between philosophy and literature. He was also the convenor of the 2003 Samuel Beckett Symposium, a UWS event co-hosted with the Sydney Festival.

He is also the author of several publications on Samuel Beckett. His most recent publications are :

  • Beckett and the Philosophical Image CUP 2006
  • Beckett and Poststructuralism CUP 1999

Dr. Chris Conti
Dr. Chris Conti holds a Ph.D from the University of Sydney. He was a Research Officer for the project in the School of Humanities at the University of Western Sydney in Australia. He was also a co-convenor of the 2003 Samuel Beckett Symposium.

Andrea Curr
Andrea Curr is a qualified reference librarian and, as website manager, is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Geulincx Resource Site. She was also a co-convenor and website developer/manager for the 2003 Samuel Beckett Symposium.
